OK, confession time. Your instructor's name is Richard. Not Luigi. So where does the name come from?

It’s because, back in 2008 when Luigi’s Professional Driving Tuition was formed, the timing coincided with the then-new Fiat 500 making its World debut.  After over a decade of loyal service, however, it was time for an overhaul of the running of the business and so now you’ll be able to learn to drive in the even more iconic Volkswagen brand. 

The legendary Polo model, which has been around since 1975, offers something many small automatic cars do not.....a dual-clutch system.  It allows seamless gear changes without the problems associated with a single-clutch, automated manual 'CVT' type, where a car can still roll backwards downhill despite Drive being engaged.  The DSG used by VW is a ‘proper’ automatic associated with much larger vehicles.

Manual tuition is also offered through a VW Polo, with a VW Taigo replacing it in early 2024.  These have five gears and both cars offer all the usual features you’d expect from a modern fleet of tuition vehicles.
